If you're planning to get married and you're on a budget, you should be able to get better rates from wedding venues and caterers by scheduling your special day for Friday the 13th, when business is slow due to superstition. But don't push it. Be careful to avoid black cats, walking under ladders, breaking mirrors, opening umbrellas inside, knocking over salt shakers and putting shoes on the table. And between now and your wedding, be sure to respond to all chain letters you receive.
