Cindy's Job At The Birch Street Nursing Home

Mr. Smith arrived at the Birch Street Nursing Home promptly at nine this morning with Crystal and the new woman, Angel. The two women immediately made themselves at home in the vacant rooms upstairs, and it wasn't long before the doctors began visiting them. Mr. Smith didn't tell me what sort of illness the women have, but it must be serious, because they were seen by a lot of different doctors throughout the day. During a break between doctors, Angel let me try on her pink wig.

Jane's Tips For Online Dating

Because of the pandemic, many people are meeting online and conducting their relationships over the computer. While this might not sound like fun, there are some benefits to online dating. For example, you get to choose your own background music. And if the conversation becomes dull, you can raise the volume.

Cindy's Job At The Birch Street Nursing Home

Today Mr. Smith paid another visit to the Birch Street Nursing Home. He was wearing his favorite bright blue suit. I asked him how Crystal was feeling, and he told me that she was the reason he stopped by. He said it worked so well having the doctors visit her at the Birch Street Nursing Home last week that he wanted to see about making it a regular thing, at least until someone permanent moves in. He also said he noticed that the second room was still available, and happened to know another woman who could use the same arrangement. We agreed that he would pay sixty dollars for the use of the two rooms each Saturday until new patients move in.

An Important Message From Grandmother Winsome

If you plan to dress up as an older person in an attempt to get your coronavirus vaccination early, do not dress as Grandmother Winsome, for everyone knows that I've had both doses of the vaccine already.

Grandmother Winsome's Legal Advice

Kiddies, if your activities require the use of a van, be careful about choosing one parked outside a funeral home. There could be cadavers inside it, which would make disposing of the evidence later all the more complicated.

Grandmother Winsome's Legal Advice

Kiddies, when choosing a car to use as a getaway vehicle, first check to make sure there are no children in the back seat. Their need for frequent bathroom breaks will surely slowly you down. And if you're picking up multiple accomplices, space could also be an issue. There might not be enough elbow room with everyone squished together back there.

Cindy's Job At The Birch Street Nursing Home

Today Mr. Smith stopped by the Birch Street Nursing Home with his friend Crystal, just as he'd promised last week. Mr. Smith handed me the forty dollars for the room, and sent Crystal straight up to bed. Throughout the day she was visited by a lot of doctors, a different one every hour, and sometimes two an hour. None of them knew which room she was in, so I stayed by the front desk to be ready to guide them upstairs. At the end of the day, when Mr. Smith picked Crystal up in his big car, she seemed healthy to me, though she did complain of a sore back. I'm going to use the forty dollars to surprise the patients with a few new puzzles and games for the activity room.

Cindy's Job At The Birch Street Nursing Home

Today we had a surprise visitor at the Birch Street Nursing Home. A man in a bright blue suit named Mr. Smith stopped by to take a look at the place. He said he'd read the classified ad about the available rooms, and was hoping he'd be able to rent one for a female friend of his next Saturday. She's not elderly, he told me, but she will be spending her time in bed, and doctors will be paying her visits throughout the day. I didn't think there would be much chance of new patients moving into both available rooms this week, and I wanted to help Mr. Smith's friend, so I agreed. Mr. Smith was pleased, and said he'd bring forty dollars in cash next week for the room.

Fanny Mail: A Question From An Appreciative Parent

Kiddies, I love hearing from my fans, especially when they tell me how my advice has helped them. Today I received a delightful email from Darlene Crupe of Chickasaw, Alabama. Darlene writes: "Dear Grandmother Winsome, my husband and I are big fans of your blog. And we especially appreciate your tips that help us save money. Your Christmas tip about telling children that Santa Claus wouldn't be coming because chimneys are a hot spot for the coronavirus saved us a bundle. We have five children. My husband and I decided to use the money we saved to go on a trip. There are so many places we'd like to visit, but haven't had the time or money because of the children. We've narrowed the choices down to two places: Hawaii and Alaska. My husband says that if we can figure out a way to avoid buying the children birthday gifts as well, we can take both trips. Do you have any advice for us?"

Well, Darlene, one option is for each child on his or her birthday to pick from the toys of your other children. One toy from each of the kids would mean four gifts. Another option is to bring back the free brochures and toiletries from the hotels where you stay on your trips and give those as gifts. Or if you take photos during your travels, print them out and give those to your children. It will also make them feel like they were there.
