Fanny Mail: Health Concerns In Sacramento

Kiddies, I just received an email from David Morgan of Sacramento, California. David writes: "Dear Grandmother Winsome, there was a lot of blood in the toilet after my morning bowel movement today. I called my doctor immediately, and he was able to see me right away. He told me this could be a sign of trouble, especially for someone my age. I'm only forty-one. He scheduled a colonoscopy for me. But on the way home I started wondering how many cannibals my doctor sees. He never asked about my diet, and my dinner last night was incredibly bloody. Could that be the cause of the blood? Should I get a second opinion before going through the hassle of that procedure?"

David, don't panic. Tonight try to go without meat. Have a big salad for dinner instead. And then check your stool tomorrow morning. If there is still a lot of blood in there, I recommend going ahead with the colonoscopy. It's better to be safe than sorry.
