Cindy's Job At The Birch Street Nursing Home
This morning when I arrived at the Birch Street Nursing Home, the patients were already gathered in the activity room, discussing themes for Saturday's dance. After a little while, they voted on "An Enchanted Evening," and everyone got busy making decorations. Poker club was canceled today, because both tables were covered with felt, construction paper, magic markers and glue. The upcoming dance was the talk of the day. Mrs. Lowe pulled me aside to share which dress she had picked out to wear. Mrs. Henley said she wants to lose another two pounds before the dance, and Mrs. Macmillan said she was excited for a reason to wear her makeup again.
