Cindy's Quarterly Report
A year ago some members of the Winsome Family contributed New Year’s resolutions to my blog. And here we are, the year complete, and one member of the family has kept up with her resolution. Cindy resolved to do one thing each week to cheer up the elderly, and, one minor issue aside, she has done just that. Here, then, is Cindy’s final Quarterly Report.
Week 40: Cindy helped decorate the Birch Street Nursing Home for Halloween.
Week 41: She put on some of Mr. Matthews' dead wife's perfume to help him remember the good old days.
Week 42: She raked leaves from the entrance to the Birch Street Nursing Home. As per Mr. Matthews’ request, she also cleaned the leaves from his room.
Week 43: Cindy dressed as Mr. Matthews’ dead wife to help him celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Week 44: She wore her Halloween costume to the Birch Street Nursing Home. All of the patients loved her kitten costume, which I made for her from real cat scraps. One man loved it so much he pet her for hours.
Week 45: Absent
Week 46: Absent

Week 48: Cindy tied pink ribbons to the park bench where the elderly sit. She also wiped the bench clean with her sleeve.
Week 49: She helped push an old woman's shopping cart at the local market.
Week 50: She helped a neighbor unload Christmas packages from her car.
Week 51: She lent an old woman her extra pair of mittens.
Week 52: Cindy cleared trash from Mrs. Chang's grave.

Cindy's Quarterly Report
Last December some of the Winsome Family members contributed their New Year's resolutions to my blog. As you know, Cindy's was to do one thing each week to cheer up the elderly. She has kept up with it, even over her summer vacation. Now it is time for Cindy’s third Quarterly Report. This time there has been lots of interesting activity over at the Birch Street Nursing Home, including a bon voyage to Mrs. Chang.
Week 27: Cindy went to the Birch Street Nursing Home to help them celebrate the Fourth of July. Those on one side of the building were able to see the neighboring town's fireworks display through their windows, but had trouble hearing it, so she stood behind them and shouted "BANG" whenever the fireworks went off.
Week 28: She made Get Well Soon cards for all the patients at the Birch Street Nursing Home.
Week 29: She made paper-mache dentures as temporary replacements for Mrs. Beaumont after her proper ones were stolen by the Birch Street Nursing Home thief.
Week 30: Cindy promised Mrs. Chang she’d help clear trash from her grave.
Week 31: She showed them her collection of old coins.
Week 32: She found a cushion for Mrs. Chang to replace the pillow she'd given her earlier, which was stolen by the Birch Street Nursing Home thief.
Week 33: She walked with Mrs. Chang next door to the Birch Street Funeral Home and helped her pick out a coffin. After that, they walked across the street to the Birch Street Cemetery, where she helped her pick out a plot.
Week 34: She started keeping a late-night vigil outside the Birch Street Nursing Home in an effort to catch the thief.
Week 35: Cindy wiped the lipstick off of Mrs. Chang’s teeth before they carted away her body.
Week 36: She told the new occupant of Mrs. Chang's room that she could keep Mrs. Chang's cushion.
Week 37: She sang to Mr. Matthews one of his deceased wife’s favorite songs.
Week 38: She helped return the stolen items found in Mrs. Shimshack's closet after her death.
Week 39: Cindy gave medical aid to Mr. Matthews.

Cindy's Quarterly Report
Last December some of the Winsome Family members contributed their New Year's resolutions to my blog. As you know, Cindy's was to do one thing each week to cheer up the elderly. What a sweet girl. She has been so good about posting her weekly updates on my blog. In April I shared her progress in the first Quarterly Report, and now it is time for Cindy’s second Quarterly Report.
Week 14: Cindy caught some insects and a lizard and let them loose in the Birch Street Nursing Home for those patients who can't go outside to see wildlife any more.
Week 15: She took a pillow from home to Mrs. Chang at the Birch Street Nursing Home, because her family had forgotten to pack one with her belongings.
Week 16: Cindy rubbed vapor salve on Mr. Matthews' chest when he came down with a sudden cough.
Week 17: She gave Mr. Matthews a haircut before his court hearing.
Week 18: She added sugar to all of the cereal in the Birch Street Nursing Home pantry.
Week 19: She reminded the elderly that they have absolutely no obligations.
Week 20: Cindy visited Mrs. Chang at the Birch Street Nursing Home on Mother’s Day. Her family couldn’t make it, because they were busy going white water rafting.
Week 21: She told Mrs. Geffner that blue is a pretty color for hair.
Week 22: She painted all nine of Mrs. Shimshack's toenails a bright pink.
Week 23: Cindy told Mrs. Beaumont she might be reincarnated as a giraffe.
Week 24: She took the leftover sweets from her last-day-of-school picnic to the patients at the Birch Street Nursing Home because some of them told her they're not provided with enough dessert there.
Week 25: Cindy called Mrs. Chang on the phone, pretending to be her daughter, and wished her a happy birthday.
Week 26: She went to the Birch Street Nursing Home and covered the bathroom floor with sand and put seaweed in the tub to make them feel like they're at the beach.

Cindy's Quarterly Report
Week 1: Cindy helped take down Christmas decorations at the Birch Street Nursing Home.
Week 2: She scraped some gum off the park bench so the elderly would have a clean place to spend their days.
Week 3: She made up a fun dance routine and performed it for the elderly at the park. One old man liked it so much he asked her to do it again, but slower.
Week 4: While Sniffles, Mr. Pearlman's guide dog, was mending at the vet again, she helped out as a substitute, leading Mr. Pearlman around.
Week 5: Cindy smiled throughout Mrs. Shimshack's entire tale of her youth.
Week 6: She put on a puppet show at the Birch Street Nursing Home using some of the invalids' socks.
Week 7: She stayed up way past midnight talking on the phone with Mr. Matthews so he wouldn't feel lonely on the anniversary of his wife's death.
Week 8: She removed all the hair from Mrs. Shimshack's necklace.
Week 9: She helped scrub those hard-to-reach places on Mr. Pearlman's back.
Week 10: Cindy took Mrs. Chang on a nice long nature hike. This also gave Mrs. Chang's family the time they needed to pack up her belongings.
Week 11: She went to the Birch Street Nursing Home and changed all the patients' clocks for daylight-saving time. Many of them seemed surprised to learn they'd lost another hour. But she assured them it was true.
Week 12: Cindy went to the Birch Street Nursing Home and covered the patients' medicine bottles with smiley face stickers.
Week 13: She turned Hazel's chair so it faces the window.
