I was so excited to give Mr. Pearlman his new seeing eye dog that I headed out to the Birch Street Nursing Home nearly an hour earlier than usual this morning. I immediately brought the dog up to Mr. Pearlman's room. But when we got to his door upstairs, the dog started running around the hall, sniffing at all the other doors. It took me a few moments, but once I managed to get it inside Mr. Pearlman's room, it hopped right up on his bed and went to sleep. I told him the woman at the pound said the dog's name was Tatters, but Mr. Pearlman immediately renamed him Sniffles The Eighth.
