Today Mr. Shaw told me he's planning on leaving the Birch Street Nursing Home in the next few weeks and heading home. I was surprised. None of the patients have ever really left the Birch Street Nursing Home, other than those who have died. Mr. Shaw explained that the trial he'd been following in his hometown newspaper was going to be over soon, and guilty verdicts were nearly guaranteed. He said this was great news for him because the bad guys on trial didn't like him very much anymore. If they went to prison, that meant he could return home.
