Today at the Birch Street Nursing Home, I surprised the patients with some new jigsaw puzzles and games for the activity room. I used the money that Mr. Smith gave me for renting out the two vacant rooms to Crystal and Angel on Saturdays. I also bought a new deck of cards for the poker club. The members really got a kick out of the picture of the llama couple wearing funny hats on the back of the cards, and Mrs. Henley accidentally showed the rest of us her hand while laughing at the picture. I hadn't seen this much excitement in the activity room since the day of the big dance last summer.
